Itinerary: 4 Days Sahara Desert Tour from Marrakech and Back to Marrakech.
Morocco Explorer has designed a 4-days Sahara desert tour from Marrakech, allowing you to fully experience the Tizi-N-Tichka pass and its panoramic mountain views. The itinerary includes visits to ancient Kasbahs such as Telouet and the UNESCO heritage site Ait Ben Haddou, as well as Ouarzazate, Gorges, Valleys, and the golden sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. This tour provides ample time to stop and appreciate each location.
Day 1: MARRAKECH – AIT BEN HADDOU – DADES VALLEY.
4 days Sahara desert tour from Marrakech includes a trip through the Atlas Mountains with an experienced driver, passing through Tizi Tichka, which is 2260m high. During the desert trip, you will make stops to enjoy impressive landscapes and visit the Argan oil cooperative. Following lunch at a local restaurant, you will have the afternoon to visit the UNESCO World Heritage site, Ait Ben Haddou. Then, you will depart for Dades Valley via Rose Valley and stay overnight in the Riad.
Day 2: DADES VALLEY – TODRA GORGE – MERZOUGA DESERT.
On the second day of our 4 days Sahara desert tour, we’ll depart from Dades Gorge and head to Erg Chebbi. We’ll stop at Berber towns like Tinjdad, Jorf, and Erfoud to take in the breathtaking views. We’ll also visit the desert spring of Tafilalet before reaching the Merzouga Desert. At Merzouga, we’ll have time to relax and appreciate the desert landscape before going on a camel ride to the Berber Desert Camp.
Day 3: SAHARA DESERT– ERISSANI – DRAA VALLE – OUARZAZATE
After watching the sunrise, enjoy breakfast at our desert camp. Then, we will continue our 4-days Sahara desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga. We’ll meet our driver and head to Ouarzazate, passing through various Berber villages in the Small Atlas Mountains: Alnif, Tazarine, Agdz, and Draa Valley. We’ll stay overnight in Ouarzazate.
Day 5: OUARZAZATE – HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS – MARRAKECH
On the last day of our 4 days Sahara desert tour from Marrakech, we will start with a short drive to visit the cinema studios. After that, we will begin our adventure in the High Atlas Mountains and head back to the Imperial city of Marrakech via the highest road pass in Morocco, Tizi Tichka, which is 2260m high. This route offers impressive views of valleys, mountains, and many Berber villages nearby. We will arrive in Marrakech in the evening, concluding our Sahara desert tour from Marrakech.
