Itinerary overview :

After leaving Marrakech, the travelers will visit Ait Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate, and the Kasbahs between these two spots and the desert of Merzouga. Then, they will spend the night in the desert before we head back to Marrakech to end our Marrakech 5 days tour of the desert.

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Valley of the Roses – Dades Gorges

After an early breakfast, we’ll start our Marrakech 5-Day Desert Tour from the red city of Marrakech. We’ll pass through the amazing landscapes of Tizi n’Tichka and many Berber villages where people live a very simple lifestyle. We will stop at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, a famous filming location for many well-known Hollywood films such as The Mummy, Gladiator, and Lawrence of Arabia. After lunch, we will leave for Ouarzazate. We will visit the Taourirt Kasbah and the Skoura Oasis Valley. Then, after a visit to Kalaat Mgouna, the city of roses, we will be on our way to the Dades Valley by the road of the thousand kasbahs. Overnight stay in a beautiful hotel in Dades.

Day 2: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Merzouga desert

After breakfast in Dades, we will head towards the Toudgha Gorges, the largest gorges in Morocco. There, we can walk along a beautiful river filled with small fish. Later, we will go to Erfoud through Tinghir and enjoy a traditional lunch. Our next destination will be Merzouga, where we will spend the night in a hotel as part of the Marrakesh 5-Day Desert Tour.

Day 3: Merzouga and Erg Chebbi DESERT

Today, We will have a drive through the desert to explore its many aspects after breakfast and shower at the hotel. We will drive our 4×4 car through the small villages like Khamlia. Khamlia is a village with Gnawa, a culture centered around Gnawa music. After having lunch with a Berber family, we will drive through the road used by the Rally of Dakar and stop at a cave where we can find fossils. Then we will go back to the hotel in Merzouga for a rest. After having rested and leaving the unnecessary luggage, we will ride to the dunes of Erg Chebbi and camp. At the camp, under the clear constellations of the Milky Way, we will have dinner while listening to the trance-inducing drum beats of the nomadic musicians.

Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Draa Valley – Agdez – Ouarzazate

We’ll get up early to see the sunrise over the dunes on this day. The colors are fascinating. Then, we will start our 5-day Marrakech tour. After visiting Rissani, the original city of the Moroccan royal family, we will drive to the Draa Valley. Passing Tazzarine and Nkoub, we drive along the Saghro mountain. After lunch, we will continue to the Draa Valley to explore the oases, villages, and Kasbahs. We will drive to Ouarzazate and spend the night there.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – Kasbah Taourirt – Alto Atlas – Marrakech

After breakfast, we’ll explore the studios of Ouarzazate, which have made this region world-famous, and the Kasbah of Taourirt. We’ll then return to Marrakech to finish our 5-day tour.
