After early breakfast, we’ll start our 3-day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga desert through the amazing Tizi n’Tichka landscapes and many Berber villages where people live a very simple lifestyle. We will stop at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, also a famous filming location for many Hollywood movies, including The Mummy, Gladiator, and Lawrence of Arabia… After lunch, we will be off to Ouarzazate to visit the Taourirt kasbah and the Skoura oasis. Then we will go to the Dades Valley through the road of the thousand kasbahs. We will visit Kalaat Mgouna, the city of roses. Once in Dades, we will spend the night in a beautiful hotel.
After breakfast in Dades, we’ll leave it and go to the Toughra Gorges, which have the biggest canyons in Morocco and a beautiful river with small fish swimming. There we’ll spend some time walking along the river. Then we will enjoy a traditional lunch in Erfoud, passing by Tinghir. Our next stop will be Merzouga. We will ride the camels to the dunes of Erg Chebbi, where we will set up camp after a rest and leave our unnecessary luggage at the hotel. We will have dinner at the camp. Under the stars, we will listen to the trance-inducing drum beats of the nomadic musicians.
We’ll get up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes. The colors are fascinating. Afterwards, you drive to the Draa Valley. Passing Tazzarine and Nkoub, we drive along the Saghro mountain. After lunch, we will continue to the Draa Valley to explore the oases, villages, and Kasbahs. We will return to Marrakech by the road of the High Atlas to finish our 3-day tour from Marrakech to the Merzouga desert.
