After we leave Tangier, the tour takes us to Chefchaouen. Then, we will travel on our 5 days imperial cities tour from Tangier south after visiting Fez and Meknes. Then, we will drive toward Rabat. Afterward, we will go to Casablanca along with Assilah and return to Tangier.
We begin with a drive through the Rif mountains and past the town of Tetouan. To take full advantage of the stunning scenery, we will stop at the foot of the Rif mountains in Chefchaouen. Chefchaouen’s medina is strongly influenced by Spanish architecture, as it was once part of ‘Spanish Morocco.’ Its square is filled with colorful craft shops. There are also many rooftop restaurants and cafes available in the riads, where you can enjoy the rest of the evening with a nice breeze and a wonderful view.
After a delicious breakfast, we continue our 5 Days Imperial Cities Tour from Tangier via Fes towards Volubilis, passing through Ouazan and other villages in the Rif. In Volubilis, we will explore the Roman ruins and learn about Moroccan history. From there, we continue to Meknes, where we will stop for lunch and explore the historic walls of the medina, including Bab el Mansour, and visit the Moulay Ismail shrine. In the afternoon, we drive to Fez, where we spend the night.
We will begin our day by exploring the oldest city in Morocco and wandering through its alleys and narrow streets. Our sightseeing will commence at the Royal Palace gate, followed by a visit to the Jewish quarter, where the first Mellah in Morocco was built during the 16th century. We will ensure that you visit all the sites of cultural and historical interest, including the famous Al Qaraouine University, the oldest in the region. Additionally, we will visit the Tanneries, the Attarine Museum, and the Moulay Idriss mausoleum. After lunch, you will have the opportunity to visit various cooperatives and then enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of the entire Medina of Fes.
After breakfast, we will go to Rabat; there, we will visit the landmarks of the city, such as the Hassan Tower Mosque, the Oudaya Kasbah, and the Mohamed V Mausoleum. Then, we will go to Chellah, an old Roman city with fascinating sights. After that, we will go to Casablanca and stay at a hotel for the night.
At Casablanca, we will visit the fascinating Hassan II mosque, one of Moroccan architecture’s best works. After that, we will visit La Corniche and Ain Diab to enjoy walking on the seaside. Then, we will travel along the coastal road to Assilah, a city hugely influenced by the Spanish style. Afterward, we will continue to Tangier and stop at a hotel.
