After leaving Marrakech the travelers on our Western Sahara Desert Tour visit Ait Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate, and the Kasbahs in between these two spots and the desert of Erg Chigaga. Then, we will spend the night in the desert before we head back to the Western Sahara Desert. Then we continue to visit different landscapes before we get to Dakhla city.
DAY 1: MARRAKECH AIRPORT ARRIVAL MOROCCO
On the first day of our 11-day Morocco Western Sahara tour from Marrakech to Dakhla, we will either visit the famous Jamaa El Fna Square or go directly to your accommodation for rest and relaxation.
DAY 2: EXPLORING MARRAKECH GUIDED TOUR
As part of the MOROCCO WESTERN SAHARA TOUR MARRAKECH TO DAKHLA, we will spend a day exploring the red city. A guided tour will take us to some of the most important historical and cultural landmarks in the city, such as the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, the Ben Youssef School of the Koran, the Medina and the Souks. Later, we will enjoy lunch at a traditional restaurant located in the famous Jamaa Lafna square. After that, we will visit the Koutoubia mosque and the fascinating Majorelle gardens, which house an amazing collection of plants from all over the world. To end the day, we will stay overnight in a traditional riad.
DAY 3: MARRAKECH – ATLAS MOUNTAINS – AIT BEN HADDOU – ZAGORA
After an early breakfast, we’ll start our tour from Marrakech. We’ll pass through the amazing landscapes of the Atlas Mountains and many Berber villages where people live a very simple lifestyle. Our first stop will be at the UNESCO world heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, which is also a famous filming location for many Hollywood movies. After lunch, we will drive to the city of Ouarzazate and visit the Kasbah of Taourirt. Then, after a visit to the Agdez oasis, we will pass by the Daraa valley, which has the largest palm plantation in Morocco. Along the way, we will make several stops for unforgettable photos before arriving to Zagora, where we will eat and spend the night.
DAY 4: ZAGORA – M’HAMID – ERG CHEGAGA DUNES
Embark on an 11-day trip to Morocco and Western Sahara. Travel in a 4×4 vehicle from Dakhla to Erg Chegaga dunes with stops at Draa Palmeraie and Tamegroute’s Koranic library and underground Kasbah. After lunch, we will drive off-road to the Mlaalg oasis and proceed to the desert camp of Erg Chegaga dunes. Ride camels to the top of the dunes to witness an unforgettable sunset view and spend the night under the starry sky in a nomad or private tent.
DAYS 5-6: GUELMIME – KSAR TAFNIDILT.
After enjoying an early breakfast, we will embark on a journey towards the last major town in Morocco, which was once a trading center for the camel trains of the Sahara. We will follow a rough track along the beach, passing through the dunes. During our journey, we will have the opportunity to explore the small settlements and abandoned military posts that are scattered throughout the remote region surrounding the Draa estuary. Our final destination will be Ksar Tafnidilt, where we will spend the night in a local traditional hotel that includes dinner and breakfast..
DAY 7: TARFAYA
After breakfast, we will continue our 11-day Morocco Western Sahara tour from Marrakech to Dakhla. Our route will take us between the Atlantic Ocean and the desert, passing small caves that are inhabited by fishermen and the stunning Naila Lagoon, an inland sea that is separated from the ocean by dunes. In the afternoon, we will reach the small town of Tarfaya, where we will spend the night at a traditional local hotel.
DAYS 8-9: LAAYOUNE – WESTERN SAHARA
After having breakfast in Tarfaya, we will leave and drive to Laayoune, the capital of Western Sahara. From there, we will set out on an expedition into this mostly unknown area, accompanied by a local Saharawi guide. During the trip, we will stop at wells to meet the Reguibat nomads and their herds of camels who survive in this harsh environment. Our journey will take us through an untamed landscape of dunes and deserts where we will camp for two nights before arriving in Dakhla on the 9th day. At the end of the day, we will check into the hotel we have booked.
DAY 10: DAKHLA SIGHTSSEING
Our Morocco Western Sahara Tour departs from Marrakech to Dakhla today. After breakfast, we will spend the day exploring the beautiful beaches and excellent fishing spots in Dakhla and its surroundings, which are located in the Atlantic Ocean. You will spend the night in a nice hotel with panoramic views.
